Objectives:
TAAA was incorporated in 1889 under the laws of the State of Ohio. The main objective of the association is to furnish financial aid to members in such manner and upon such terms and conditions as its regulations shall prescribe and direct.
Benefits:
A member is eligible for an annuity when the member meets all of the following criteria:
  1. Retired
  2. 60 years of age
  3. 30 years paid-up membership
In 2007, 184 annuitants received checks for $915. In 2008, 187 annuitants received $998. In 2009, 190 annuitants received $968, and in 2010, 195 annuitants received $850 each. In December 2012, TAAA annuitants each received a check for $997.22. Annuitants generally receive their entire investment back in their first check.
Who is eligible?
All certified/licensed teachers employed by a school in Hamilton County, Ohio who are under the age of 40 are eligible to have their application approved by vote of the Board of Trustees. Membership is open throughout the year.
